Radioactivity in the Northern Adriatic is No Reason for Concern

Brussels, 10 January - ADRIATIC/RADIOACTIVITY/RESEARCH
Concentrations of radioactive cesium and other natural radioactive elements that have been found in the Slovene sea are low and thus do not pose a health risk. This was the statement from representatives of Slovene institutions which rejected certain media reports indicating an increase in radioactivity in the Northern Adriatic which was shown in a study held between 1993 and 1999 by the EU on climate changes in the Mediterranean region.
