1999 Sees Fewer Guests in Slovene Spas

Fifteen Slovene health resorts accommodated 374,987 guests in 1999, up 1.6 percent from a year earlier. While the number of Slovene tourists increased by 0.5 percent, the number of those from abroad fell by 5.9 percent. Health resorts recorded a 5.1-percent drop in tourist nights, with the foreigners' nights falling by as much as 10 percent in comparison with 1998. Domestic tourists spending their holidays in health resorts made up 71.4 percent of all tourists.
