Review of Events Involving Slovenia from 8 through 14 January

Ljubljana, 15 January - Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, U.S. General Henry H. Shelton, Albanian Minister for Labour and Social Affairs Makbule Ceco and delegations of the parliamentary foreign relations committees from Poland and Norway paid a visit to Slovenia last week. The Slovene Foreign Ministry stressed the country's achievements during its two-year term as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, which expired at the end of 1999. The Ministry also announced that Slovenia will continue to play an active role in the international community, as it is a candidate to preside over OSCE in 2005.
