Nedelo on Slovenes and Charity

More than half (57 percent) of the respondents participating in the opinion poll published in Nedelo, the Sunday issue of the Slovene daily Delo, failed to engage in any charity activity in 1999. Slightly less than 16 respondents gave to charity on one occasion, while 26 percent participated in charity work on numerous occasions. Among the most often recipients of donations are such charity organisations as the Red Cross, Karitas, Unicef, and Soncek.
