Minister Bergauer: Motorway Programme to Continue Despite Difficulties

Ljubljana, 21 January - PRESS/MOTORWAYS
The Slovene motorway programme will continue despite the oncoming elections, however in the case of curtailed finances we can expect some problems with the realisation of the building of the motorway network. The government has, during the passing of the annual budget, ordered that between the years 2001 and 2007 resources must be allocated for the highway programme which have been obtained from the special tax on petrol. These resources amount to US$ 3.065 billion, and are envisaged in the national motorway construction programme. This was told on Slovene Television by minister for transport and communication, Anton Bergauer.
