Only Matt Faster Than Vrhovnik

Slovenia's Matjaz Vrhnovik has been skiing very well in the slalom of late, and it was thus no surprise when he was once again in the running for a top place in Kitzbuehel. In the end the only one that could outski him was a local, Mario Matt. Vrhovnik thus finished second, 98 hundredths of a second behind Matt, while another Austrian and leader from the first run, Benjamin Raich took third place.
