More Money for Tourist Promotion

Ljubljana, 24 January - The Slovene Tourist Board will get SIT 980 million (DM 9.8 million) from the national budget for its activity in 2000, up 27 percent from the sum allocated in the 1999 budget and down 14 percent in comparison to the funds received last year to compensate for the negative consequences of the war in the Balkans. However, the introduction of the value added tax as well as the inflation put the Board's budget for 2000 some ten percent above that of 1999 in real terms.
