Two-Round Majority System Rejected Again

Ljubljana, 28 January - PARLIAMENT/ELECTORAL/LAW
The National Assembly on Friday rejected in first reading the bill on the two-round majority system which has been submitted to Parliament by the leader of the largest opposition party, SDS, Janez Jansa. A two-third majority (60 votes) was required for the bill to be passed, but only 44 out of 76 present lawmakers voted for it.
