Review of the Slovene Economy from 27 May Through 2 June

Ljubljana, 4 June - Owners of motor vehicles in Slovenia were faced with yet another rise in the prices of petrol, which is dearer by around nine tolars a litre (1 EURO equals around 204 SIT) as of Tuesday. The price rise follows the increase in the prices of crude oil and its derivatives on world markets. This is the second rise of retail prices of leaded and unleaded gasoline since a government decree on the formation of prices of oil derivatives came into force on 4 April. May inflation, however, does not include this price increase, which will influence the inflation rate for June. The May inflation stood at 0.5 percent.
