Gathering in Memory of the World War II Victims: Memorial and Protest Rally

Brestanica, 4 June - Some 6,000 people gathered at the Rajhenburg castle, southeastern Slovenia, on Sunday, to mark the 55 anniversary of the return of exiles and to remember other victims of World War II. Slovene President Milan Kucan, outgoing Minister of Labour, Family, and Social Affairs Tone Rop, and chair of the parliamentary committee for international relations Jelko Kacin were among the guests, as well as high representatives of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Cornelia Sommeruga, Helena Korhonen and Lothar Evers.
