Group Distributing Counterfeit Liras Appehended by Police

Ljubljana, 6 June - In recent days police apprehended a group of persons who allegedly distributed large amounts of foreing currency. This involves 95 million Italian lira, which were attempted to be exchanged for German marks at one of Ljubljana's exchange bureaus by a group of four persons on 3 June. The counterfeit liras were so well made that they contained the correct protection under UV light, which at first caused doubt among police as to whether the money was counterfeit.
