UNESCO Consultation Begins in Bled

Bled, 11 June - The lake-side resort of Bled began to host the consultation of the European region on the new medium-term and two-year UNESCO programme on Sunday. The consultation which is being attended by 80 representatives from 43 European countries was opened by Minister for Science and Technology Lojze Marincek, who said that the association of contents and the activity of four important carriers of sustainable development - training and education, science, culture and information technology - give an ever increasing meaning to the resolution of modern problems of development and social problems. The consultation will assist to the search for new paths, both in an organisational and contents sense, by which UNESCO would carry out its tasks in the future.
