First European Conference of the Deaf Gets Underway

Ljubljana, 15 June - Representatives from 22 European countries, the leadership of the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) and the representatives of the hosts (The Slovene Association of Societies for the Deaf) are currently discussing relevant issues at the 1st ever European conference of national organisations for the deaf which is taking place over the next two days in the cultural and conference centre, Cankarjev Dom. The participants are expected to tackle issues concerning improved flow of information and knowledge, as well as the guarantee of rights to the deaf.
