Slovene National Day at Expo 2000

Hanover, 18 June - "This year's Expo is the first in a 150 year long tradition of world exhibitions which can be characterised as a global world," said Slovene President Milan Kucan in his opening speech at the launch of Slovene National Day at the Expo 2000 world exhibition in Hanover on Sunday. Slovenia has had valuable experiences in the meaning of co-habitation of man, nature, and technology, which are currently one of the most exciting challenges of humankind, he said. A Slovene delegation, which also includes Minister for Science and Technology Lojze Marincek was greeted by the Expo 2000 General Commissioner Birgit Breul and State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry for Justice Hansjoerg Geiger.
