Expo 2000 - an Opportunity to Present Slovene Identity and Ambition

Slovenia is a young country which luckily disengaged nine years ago from the maelstrom of war, which then engulfed the area of the former Yugoslavia, Slovene President Milan Kucan told the press at the launch of Slovene National Day at the Expo 2000 world exhibition in Hanover on Sunday. This is already the second time that Slovenia has an opportunity to participate in a world exhibition, which can be used to present its identity and ambitions, he said, and added that Slovenia wishes to show its understanding of the responsibility for the co-habitation of man and nature not only in Slovenia, but also globally.
