Foreign Minister Answers MPs' Questions About Slovenia's Integration into the EU

Ljubljana, 23 June - The parliamentary committee for international relations (OMO) dedicated its Friday session to asking Foreign Minister Lojze Peterle questions about the new government's steps about Slovenia's accession to the EU. MPs were chiefly interesed in changes to the draft report on the progress Slovenia has made over the past year in adjusting to EU standards. MPs also enquired about the latest personnel changes made by the Bajuk governbment, the government's stance on bringing the issue of denationalisation up in EU membership negotiations, and its line on the closure of duty-free shops. A question of when Slovenia might become a EU member was also asked.
