Slovenia Celebrates the 9th Anniversary of Its Statehood

Ljubljana, 24 June - A number of celebrations have been organised to mark the 9th anniversary of Slovenia's independence. The official ceremony on the eve on National Day, 25 June, will be addressed Saturday evening by Slovene President Milan Kucan and Prime Minister Andrej Bajuk. Ahead of the ceremony in the Republic Square, the National Assembly will convene a few metres away for a festive session with Speaker Janez Podobnik as the official speaker.
