Insurance Company Zavarovalnica Maribor Makes Profits of 4 Million Euros

Maribor, 28 June - The insurance company Zavarovalnica Maribor successfully concluded the 1999 business year, and with 18.2-percent market share placed second among classic insurance companies in Slovenia, said Drago Cotar, chairman of the board at Zavarovalnica Maribor at a news conference on Wednesday. Last year's incomes of the insurance company increased from SIT 23 billion (112 million euros) to SIT 24 billion (117 million euros), while the damages amounted to SIT 13.5 billion (66 million euros), Cotar explained. The insurance company concluded last year's business year with profits of SIT 854 million (4 million euros). Audited book value of the company's share totalled SIT 61,860.59 (302 euros), which was a rise of 20 percent from 1998.
