Jansa Continues Visit to Washington

Washington, 29 June - Slovenia's Defence Minister Janez Jansa is visiting Washington these days to lobby for Slovenia's admission to NATO. On Wednesday the minister attended the annual session of the Western European Union (WEU) Transatlantic Forum and met several U.S. senators and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the U.S. Military, Gen. Sidney Shelton. On Thursday he will try to win further support for Slovenia's bid to join the Alliance in a meeting with Under Secretary for Political in the State Department Thomas Pickering.
