The Decision to Introduce the VAT Was the Right One, Finance Ministry Says

Ljubljana, 30 June - The decision to replace the sales tax with the value added tax (VAT) was the right one, the Finance Ministry established a year after the introduction of the VAT in Slovenia. The financial impacts of the VAT and excise duties have been in line with the expectations, which holds true also for prices, while the new tax policy has not caused any major liquidity problems to companies, the Ministry explained.
