Cheques no Longer Guaranteed by Banks

Banks will no longer guarantee a pay out on cheques as of Saturday, 1 July, a move which has caused concern among shopkeepers for quite some time. The traders have prepared differently for the measure reached by an inter-bank agreement. While some will seize to accept cheques, the others will wait for the practical implementation of the measure and adapt gradually to the new situation.
