Negotiators of Six Front-Running EU Candidates Meet in Krakow

Ljubljana, 30 June - Head of the Slovene negotiating team with the EU Janez Potocnik with delegation on Friday in Krakow attended the 11th meeting of chief negotiators from six front-running EU candidate countries of the Luxembourg group. The officials reviewed the progress the candidates achieved in negotiations with the EU under the Portuguese presidency, and discussed the possible progress under the upcoming French presidency. Special attention was paid to the ways in which the EU monitors the progress of candidate countries towards EU accession, and to transitional periods, STA learnt from the Slovene delegation. The meeting will close on Saturday with the adoption of a joint statement.
