Government Will Not Interfere in Editorial Policies, Says SDS

Ljubljana, 3 July - The Social Democrats (SDS), a party that is part of the government coalition, believes that the media space in Slovenia is closed, non-plural and one-sided, that is why the party would like to see changes in the media space, expressed Deputy President of the SDS Milan Zver. Zver also said that rumours concerning a plan by the government to make changes to journalists in Slovene media houses, is untrue. Much was written about the government interfering in editorial policies last week in the Slovene media, however, Zver clearly rejected any such moves on Monday. In Zver's words the government is striving for changes in the media field but these changes are not clear yet since the government has not discussed the issue.
