Two World War I Mines Found in City of Nova Gorica

Ljubljana, 4 July - Two mines originating from the World War I have been found at a border crossing with Italy in the Slovene city of Nova Gorica. One mine of Austrian origin which weighed 70 kilos was taken to a warehouse by a mine-locating craft yesterday. The other unexploded device, an artillery shell weighing 50 kilos was of Italian origin. It was found near a private house at Rozna dolina border crossing, and has already been removed, the National Rescue and Protection Office reported on Tuesday.
