Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committe Discusses EU-Related Issues

Ljubljana, 4 July - The parliamentary committee for foreign affairs at Tuesday's session hosted French Ambassador Olivier de La Baume, who presented to the MPs the programme of the French presidency over the EU, which started on 1 July. The ambassador hopes that France would successfully conclude the intergovernmental conference on the institutional reform, so that the accession of new candidate countries will not be slowed down. The pace of negotiations with the twelve candidate countries should be continued and speeded up, said de La Baume, who refused to talk about possible dates of the accession of new countries to the EU.
