Valkarton Acts Upon Health Inspectorate Claims of Dangerous Packaging

Ljubljana, 5 July - Slovene cardboard producer Valkarton responded to Tuesday's measures imposed against it by the Slovene Health Inspectorate and is already searching for a new supplier of dye for its packaging. The Health Inspectorate established that the increased levels of hexachlorobenzene (HCB) in the milk of several Slovene dairies resulted because of an increase in HCB levels in the dye used by Valkarton in its packaging. The problematic packaging, which could be dangerous to health, was removed from the market immediately, while the purchasers of the packaging may still have some supplies left, the STA was informed by Valkarton commercial director Roman Dodic on Wednesday.
