Ottey Tells Ljubljana Press Conference That She Feels Great Relief Following IAAF Decision

Ljubljana, 5 July - One of the greatest athletes of all time, Merlene Ottey of Jamaica told Wednesday's press conference in Ljubljana that her goal is to fulfil the trophy cabinet of her illustrious career by winning the gold medal in the 100 metres competition at the Sydney Olympic Games. Wednesday's press conference comes two days after the International Amateur Athletics Federation (IAAF) ruled that Ottey may participate at the Sydney games, thus turning down the charges of doping that had been filed against her after excessive levels of nandrolone were found in a sample given following an athletics meet on 5 July 1999.
