Parliamentary Commission Proposes no Dates for When to Call Elections

Ljubljana, 6 July - The parliamentary commission for the electoral system and constitutional changes at its extraordinary session on Thursday prepared an opinion about the most suitable date to call regular parliamentary elections in autumn that will be submitted to President Milan Kucan. However, no concrete date on which to call and hold elections has been proposed as yet, but Parliament expects that the president will take into account the fact that procedures to change electoral legislation are still underway in Parliament, was written in the opinion adopted by the parliamentary commission. The opinion is to be debated in Parliament next week.
