Former Interior Minister and Former Police Director General Found Responsible for Vic-Holmec Affair

Ljubljana, 6 July - Former Interior Minister Mirko Bandelj and former Police Director General Borut Likar were found responsible for what has been termed the Vic-Holmec affair, an attempt undertaken by civil servants to discredit Slovene police officers and soldiers who participated in the 1991 independence war for Slovenia in the region of Carinthia. The scandal broke out at the end of 1998 under the Janez Drnovsek government.
