Government Starts Debating 2001 Budget

Ljubljana, 6 July - The government adopted a draft macroeconomic plan for 2001 on Thursday and thus opened a debate on the 2001 budget bill. The envisaged revenues total SIT 1,099 billion (5.3 billion euro) and the outgoings SIT 1,135 billion (5.5 billion euro), while the deficit is expected to amout to SIT 36 billion (175 million euro) or 0.82 percent of the gross domestic product, Finance Minister Zvonko Ivanusic told the press.
