Monument to Slovene Silent Film Star Unveiled on Her Birthday

Ljubljana, 7 July - The Slovene Cinematheque and the Ljubljana Academy of Fine Arts will mark the birthday of actress Ita Rina, born Ida Kravanja (1907 - 1979), with the unveiling of a statue of this European silent movie start and with the screening of films at the house of her birth in Divaca, a small town in southwestern Slovenia. The house had previously been reorganised into a museum. The statue was created by Maja Babic Kosir, a freshman student at the Ljubljana Academy of Fine Arts.
