Review of Events Involving Slovenia in the Week from 1 July through 7 July

Ljubljana, 8 July - Discussions during the recent week once again concentrated on debating the best electoral system. The government passed a proposal to amend the Constitution and a bill to call a referendum on electoral system, which is to be adopted in a swift procedure. According to the proposed bill, the voters will choose between a bill on the second-vote plurality system and a bill on the system of proportional representation.
