Weekly Review of the Slovene Economy from 1 to 7 July

Ljubljana, 9 July - The government adopted on Thursday a draft macroeconomic plan for 2001, thus opening a debate on the 2001 budget bill. While the envisaged revenues total SIT 1,099 billion (5.3 billion euro) and the expenditure SIT 1,135 billion (5.5 billion euro), the deficit is expected to amount to SIT 36 billion (175 million euro), or 0.82 percent of GDP, a drop from one percent of GDP as forecasted for this year.
