Congress of European Futures Winds Up

Ljubljana, 9 July - A fourth international Congress of European Futures whose main objective was to search for alternatives to EU membership in order to secure Europe a better future, wound up in Ljubljana on Sunday. Participants in the congress - representatives of Eurosceptical NGOs and individuals from around 15 Central and Eastern European countries - discussed on Saturday and Sunday the euro, the militarization of the EU, social stratification and the spreading of poverty, agriculture-related problems in the EU, the role of NGOs in Europe, the youth and the rise of xenophobia.
