Electricity Consumption on the Rise

Ljubljana, 12 July - The consumption of electricity in Slovenia has been on the rise since the beginning of the year. 5.26 billion kWh of electricity were consumed in the first six months, which was an increase of 4.8 percent compared to the same period last year. The consumption grew both in distribution, by 4.3 percent to 4.24 billion kWh, and with direct consumers by 6.8 percent to 13.7 million kWh. The electricity consumption in the first half of the year exceeded the forecasts by over four percent. Considering the rising trend, the consumption is expected to increase by five percent, which by far exceeds long-term forecasts.
