Government Offers Help to Slovene Steelworks

Ljubljana, 13 July - It was proposed at the government session on Thursday that the Slovene Steelworks be offered help, so that credits for permanent assets of the Slovene Steelworks will be provided in accordance with the act on state security for credits. Minister of Economic Affairs Joze Zagozen explained after the government session that the bank Gorenjska banka will give a loan of SIT 420 million (2 million euros), the bank Nova kreditna banka Maribor SIT 450 million (2.2 million euros), Vienna's Adria DEM 5.8 million, and New-York based LBS bank, a subsidiary of the largest Slovene bank Nova ljubjanska banka, 5.12 million euros. Zagozen explained that the banks were selected in a call.
