Kucan and Ciampi Discuss EU Enlargement

Rome, 14 July - Slovene President Milan Kucan met with Italian President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi during his working visit to Rome on Friday. The two presidents discussed the enlargement and the reforms of the EU, as well as the act to protect the Slovene minority in Italy, which was passed by the Italian parliament on Wednesday. Kucan thanked Ciampi for the efforts made by the Italian state to adopt the protection act, which was in his opinion a big step forward and a result of good relations between the two countries.
