Chamber of Industry against the Closure of Duty-Free Shops

Koper, 14 July - Ahead of the upcoming visit of the European Commissioner for Enlargement Guenter Verheugen to Slovenia, questions are being raised in regards to the closure of Slovenia's duty-free shops. Although the agreement that would bind Slovenia to close its duty-free shops has not been reached as yet, the EU has exerted constant and systematic pressure upon Slovenia to close its duty-free shops and thus seize to compete with traders from the neighbouring countries, the duty-free shop section of the Slovene Chamber of Industry and Commerce reported on Friday.
