Trieste, 15 July - Wednesday's adoption of the protection act on the Slovene minority by the Italian parliament gave a special, almost festive air to Friday's visit of Slovene President Milan Kucan to Rome. There was no euphoria, which neither has a place in diplomacy nor in interstate relations, but sober satisfaction was present that the protection act made it half the way, the Trieste-based Slovene daily Primorski dnevnik writes on Saturday.
