European Commissioner Verheugen Arrives in Slovenia

Ljubljana, 17 July - European Commissioner on Enlargement Guenter Verheugen began his two-day Slovene visit aimed at discussing Slovene progress in European integration on Monday morning. Soon after his arrival in Slovenia, Verheugen met with Slovene President Milan Kucan at the Strmol castle some 40 kilometres North of Ljubljana where the pair are currently holding talks which will be followed by an official lunch. Verheugen is also expected to visit Western Slovenia later in the day and will attend a dinner hosted by Slovene Foreign Minister Lojze Peterle in the evening.
