Inflation Damages Favourable Economic Movements

Ljubljana, 17 July - Local demand fluctuates strongly, but shows gradual stabilisation, with economic activities being provided through export demand. Growing exports and stagnating imports made the trade deficit drop lower from last year's, a trend strongly continued in June, according to analysts of the Economic Institute of the Ljubljana Faculty of Law. Orders, particularly those coming from abroad, drive the economic activity, which is gaining ground also on Slovenia's major foreign markets. It is only inflation, driven by price rises in oil derivatives in June, that damages very favourable economic movements.
