Commissioner Verheugen Visits Stanjel and Ajdovscina

Ajdovščina, 17 July - European Commissioner for Enlargement Guenter Verheugen later on Monday visited two Slovene towns in southwestern Slovenia, i.e. Stanjel, which was revitalised with the help of the funds of the Phare programme, and Ajdovscina, where the commissioner was informed on the progress of works on a purification plant that is being set up with the funds of the Phare programme. Verheugen said that he was very satisfied with first impressions of the renovation, adding that Slovenia will receive more funds in future, provided that suitable programmes are worked out.
