Infertility Treatment Act Passed; Single Women Have No Right to Treatment

Ljubljana, 20 July - The Slovene Parliament on Thursday passed with overwhelming majority a controversial bill on the treatment of infertility and artificial insemination. The bill has been widely debated in the media because of the opposition to the LDS-filed amendments which would give single women the right to artificial insemination in cases of infertility. Backed by 61 and opposed by 4 MPs, the endorsed act gives no possibility to single women to get the above-mentioned medical treatment.
