710 Illegal Migrants Apprehended on the Slovene-Croatian Border in First Half of 2000

Krško, 21 July - 710 foreign nationals who entered Slovenia illegally were apprehended by Krsko police, southeast, in the first half of 2000, a 50 percent rise as compared to the same period of 1999. Most of the illegal immigrants came from Iran (316) and Romania (140), whereas in 1999 there were only 11 Iranians, with the majority of illegal migrants coming from Yugoslavia (285) and Romania (78), the Krsko Police reported.
