Slovene Politicians Meet Under Slovenia's Oldest Linden Tree

Ljubljana, 22 July - The guest speaker at Saturday's tenth traditional meeting of statespersons and politicians under what is considered to be the older linden tree in Slovenia was Slovenia's President Milan Kucan. In his speech Kucan expressed that Slovenia has without a doubt take giant steps forward both in internal reforms and the solidification of its image in the international community, that is why untamed partisan passion and irresponsible spreading of political hatred, which could have long-term repercussions, are not understandable. The meeting was attended by several lawmakers from Slovenia's parliament, state councilors, the Ombudsman, mayors from Carinthian municipalities and Slovenia's first speaker of parliament France Bucar, who was the guest speaker at the first meeting under the oldest Slovene linden tree in 1991.
