Seminar on Cross-Border Co-operation and Preparations for EU Membership Concludes

Ljubljana, 22 July - The Junior European Federalist Society prepared a one-week seminar entitled "Cross-border Co-operation and Preparations for EU Membership" which took place in the alpine resort of Kranjska Gora. The seminar, which was attended by around 40 persons from 13 European countries concluded on Saturday. The seminar was intended to study problems which exist between EU candidate countries and EU members, and which could be brought on by enlargement, in addition to finding ways to make EU membership an instrument for the stimulation of tolerance and understanding among members of different nations and ethnic minorities, as well as to stress the need to preserve national identity as a part of a wider European identity.
