Austria's Mobile Telephony Operator Issues Bid to Take Over Slovenia's Si.mobil

Ljubljana, 25 July - An Austrian mobile telephony operator has officially informed Si.mobil, a Slovene company in the same line of business, about its bid to purchase Si.mobil shares, which a part of Si.mobil's shareholders already approved on 22 July. However, Si.mobil shareholders, one of which is Sweden's Telia, has a pre-emptive right which expires within 30 days. Si.mobil shareholders are expected to take the final decision on Mobilkom's bid at the annual general meeting scheduled for 28 August.
