Participants in Bled Conference Voice Opposing Views on Balkan and Chechnya Issues

Bled, 28 July - We all wish next millennium to be better, but to have it that way we must first face mistakes of the past. Europe no longer counts its dead in millions, but civilians tend be targets more and more, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Lord Russell-Johnston said on Friday in his address to the conference "Europe at the Turn of the Millennium - Values and Conflicts" at the lakeside resort of Bled. The participants focused on the situation in South Eastern Europe and Chechnya, manifesting some opposing views on both issues.
