Delo Examines the Issue of Kurils

Ljubljana, 7 September - The Kurils, an issue which encompasses a land dispute between the former Soviet Union and Japan, was thought up by America, which incited Japan during the middle of the cold war and while doing that reminded it of the chain of islands they had formerly held which were taken by the Red Army in 1945. Vladimir Putin expressed in Sakhalin, just before setting of for Tokyo, that the Kuril problems exist, but at the same time decisively added that there is no possibility for negotiations on the return of the island.
