Slovene Gov't Agrees to Raise Doctors' Wages

Ljubljana, 28 September - At its session on Thursday the government adopted an annex to the collective agreement for doctors and dentists effective as of 21 September. The government also gave the green light for the first step of the harmonisation of wages earned by doctors to those earned by judges as of 1 January 2000. The government also set down that negotiations for a new collective agreement should begin so as to implement the harmonisation of doctors' wages to those of judges effective as of 1 June 2001.
